Everything Matters...

I can hope, anyway.  

I've been working in my current role for a little over two and a half years, but a very good friend of mine put the bug in my ear.  There's a position open in her group.  It is a bit more responsibility and a bit more difficult, but it is also something I can certainly do.  It does not come with overtime, but the bottom line for me is that, after the last six months working the average 50 hour week, I'm really looking to go back to a 40 hour week.  Yes, I might miss the overtime a little bit, but the job does include a pay raise.  Which would be nice.  

So there's that.  And because tomorrow's interview is at the beginning of my day, I'm going to keep this short and sweet (yes, I do know how to do that) and get a good night's rest to be prepared for tomorrow.

Fingers crossed...

Slightly Better Than Unsuccessful Woodworking Day

 Yeah, that's right, I said it. We have a front-load "Epic" clothes washer that is coming up on ... dare I say it ... fifteen years old.  It's running fine, dealing with that which we get to deal with.  And I hope it lasts a few more years. But it has one ... treat for us.  When it decides it's time to spin the laundry to get the water out, it is ... rather energetic.  And the load is rarely completely balanced.  So it tends to ... create a bit of a rumble - or more.  And on occasion, things ... fling off the washer top. It has been many years since I dealt with this, but it occurred to me some folks just aren't as smart as they think they are. It's State Fair time in Minnesota , so that's going on.  And there is always a lot of competition for booth sites for many things.  There are some booths, however, that are usually available right up to nearly opening day.  As was undoubtedly the case this year. Some of you may have heard that there's an election coming, and we here in Minnesota are a little more invested than we had been as our governor is now campaigning to become the third man from Minnesota to serve as Vice President, following Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale, both within my lifetime.   Our State fair is pretty widely recognized as one of the biggest and best in the country.  There is no single focus area.  With all of the agriculture in this state, the Ag barns are a huge focus.  Unfortunately, due to the smaller number of farmers out there, Machine...
